Sunless Skies: Sovereign Edition

Sunless Skies sends you captaining a steam locomotive through a strange, gothic version of outer space, balancing exploration, crew morale, fuel, supplies, and risk. Most of the game is about choosing where to travel, which stories to pursue, and how much danger you can afford before limping back to port. Its strength is the writing: eerie, funny, and richly weird, with a sense that every station has some dreadful little bargain waiting. It is a strong fit for players who like text-heavy RPGs, nautical-style survival tension, and slow-burn worldbuilding over straightforward action.
